Eros Experiment at the National Institute of Nuclear Physics and Particle Physics
The objective of the Eros experiment is the detection of dark matter in the universe. The astrophysicists think that there are huge amounts of matter besides the matter concentrated in the stars and black holes. Its detection would help to have a more precise theory about origin and evolution of the universe. Every night, the sky is scanned and a large number of pictures are collected. Those images are entered into HPSS. Over time, all pictures of one spot in the sky are analyzed to detect changes.
